Humanitarian settings are challenging and complex environments in which to provide healthcare. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines humanitarian settings as those in which there is a breakdown in the normal functioning of society and the ability to meet basic needs such as food, water, shelter, and healthcare. These situations can be caused by natural disasters, armed conflict, or other crises that displace people from their homes and disrupt essential services.
