Elastic network interfaces (ENIs) provide secure network connectivity to Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances. Each interface includes a unique network interface card (NIC), a private IPv4 address, and a security group, which acts as a virtual firewall. ENIs allow you to configure network settings for your instances, such as IP addresses, subnets, and security groups, independently of the underlying hardware. This provides greater flexibility and control over your network configuration.
