Pixel Art Master Course - Beginner to Professional/Freelance
This course teaches everything about pixel art for video games. From the very basics to the advanced techniques. Students will learn about lines, shapes, color theory and harmony, creating a color palette, designing characters, backgrounds, items, making animation and even how to start freelancing. You will also learn a lot about game design principles.
If you are new to art or pixel art and want to create better art for your indie games then this course is for you.
This course is always growing with new lessons (you can check the future planned lessons in a document available on the Discord server). If there is a topic that you would like me to cover, you can message me and I will make it. I am on Udemy and Discord server every day so you can easily get into contact with me.
Discord (2000+ members) also provides certain benefits once you reach a certain role on the server such as getting access to exclusive channels. The wonderful community there also provides a place for you to share your work, get feedback or even just hang out and chill with people of similar interest. Connect and work with other people on game jams (if you want). Yes, even if you want to find game coders and music compositors (or if you're one who's looking for an artist). There are also indie devs who code and do the art themselves.
This course will strengthen your foundations in art and pixel art. It will build your confidence in your art and give you the information you need to continue improving your pixel art and start making money.
By the time you finish the course, you will already have a portfolio for different game genres with practical game design.
This course has 3 big parts: beginner [B], intermediate [I] and advanced [A]. Each section is marked with a letter inside square brackets at the end of it's title with corresponding difficulty.
I am available on Udemy and Discord every day - to give you feedback, to help you overcome your limits, to help you become a better artist in fun and relaxing way. I'm here for you every step of the way if you need me.
Languages and subtitles: entire course is available in multiple languages. English subtitles have been manually reviewed, fixed and they work properly. Please note that other languages for subtitles have been auto-translated from english language. While I'm aware it's not a perfect solution, it should be of great use.

easy to follow
The material is fun and easy to follow even for a complete beginner like me.
About 70% through so far, very informative and easy to follow, I've only started to learn some new things now I'm in the intermediate section 10 but if you are a complete beginner sections 1 through 9 are your absolute core foundations that you'll need to master to progress your pixel art.
The lessons are easy to follow along with while still covering in-depth knowledge later on in the sections.
So easy to follow, and I enjoy challenging myself!

I'm not even half way through because every chapter I complete motivates me to return to my old pixel art images and redo them with the new things I've learned.
I don't have any artistic history behind me, but I love to learn new things.

Simply because, even tho at the moment it is the most complete one around, i feel like it still lacks something.
There are other parts like making a platformer or making a top-down game that I didn't watch because I don't feel like those things apply to me.
In this course taught by Mislav, I feel like I'm learning to draw by building a foundation of skills and then expanding them.
I feel like a lot of the material out there is less grounded in proper technique.
I feel like I'm better than I was when I started.
it makes me feel like don't just care a bout the money.
being in the discord group and getting direct answer on my comments with your challenges makes me feel like you actually care personally for your students and wants us to succeed.

I highly recommend this course :) Take care, Filip This course is actually explaining things that other courses have skipped over or missed, its clear enough that any person starting out with Pixel art can get the hang of the basics in it simplest form as well as more in depth concepts Mislav very comfortably introduced me to pixel art, answering every question before I could even think to ask it.
if you want pixel by pixel walkthroughs though you are better off with other courses Even the first five minutes caused my artwork to be noteworthily different.
Unlike the other courses I looked into, you are given challenges throughout the course and can submit them into the community to be given feedback.
The course explains in-depth many of the nuances of pixel art that other courses tend to gloss over like jaggies.
The difference in what the video explanation of the video says we'll learn to what we end up doing is far too drastic for me to feel this course was more valuable than other courses.

Overall the course is good but I would recommend it for complete beginners only and I would look for other courses for more advanced topics and precise instructions.
Hoping more advanced courses are added in the future.
The course is still growing, and the only thing I still think it can improve is on having more advanced lessons, but I'm sure they will come in time.
I was excited to see a different perspective on more advanced pixel art but sadly it never goes to advanced pixel art, it is for absolute beginners only.
