Nuclear and Particle Physics

Based on 7 ratings

This text is written on two levels. Part 1 presents a brief summary of the topics normally appearing in undergraduate courses in nuclear structure physics. Much of this may have been studied on A-level courses and as such the emphasis is on simplicity. In contrast, Part 2 attempts to explore the fundamental symmetries of nature in detail, and this requires the presentation of an adequate theoretical background. In view of this emphasis on theory in Part 2, the necessary description of particle detextion and accleration techniques used in high-energy physics is included briefly in Part 1. The development contained in the second part of this book is therefore more appropriate for experienced undergraduates or postgraduate studies.
