Fashion Archivist
Fashion Archivists are responsible for the preservation, management, and interpretation of fashion collections. They acquire, catalog, and store fashion garments and accessories, as well as research and document their history and significance. Fashion Archivists may also work with designers and curators to develop exhibitions and educational programs.
Education & Training
A Fashion Archivist typically needs a minimum of a bachelor's degree in fashion design, fashion merchandising, or a related field. Some Fashion Archivists also have a master's degree in library science or museum studies.
Essential Skills
Fashion Archivists must have a deep knowledge of fashion history and theory. They must also be able to identify, catalog, and store fashion garments and accessories. Fashion Archivists must also be able to research and document the history and significance of fashion collections. Additionally, Fashion Archivists must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
