What Does a Learning Strategist Do?
Learning Strategists collaborate with learners to understand their specific needs and goals, which may include academic advancement or personal enrichment. They then develop a personalized learning plan to help the learner achieve their goals. In addition to creating a learning plan, Learning Strategists also provide instruction on specific topics like test-taking, note-taking, and critical thinking. They may also provide feedback on the learner's progress and suggest adjustments to the learning plan as needed. Learning Strategists work with a variety of learners, including those with special needs or learning disabilities, to help them develop effective learning strategies.
How to Become a Learning Strategist?
There are a few different paths to becoming a Learning Strategist. Some Learning Strategists have a background in education, while others come from fields such as psychology or counseling. In order to become a Learning Strategist, a person must have a strong understanding of how people learn as well as effective teaching methods.
Learning Strategists must also be able to communicate effectively and build relationships with learners. Many Learning Strategists have a master's degree in education, learning science, or a related field. However, some Learning Strategists may have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and gain experience working with learners through internships or volunteer work.
