Country Risk Analyst
Country Risk Analysts are responsible for assessing and managing the financial implications that may result from political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal (PESTEL) factors. The countries or regions that they analyze may be for their company's current operations or potential expansion. They provide this information to help companies make informed decisions about their investments and operations in foreign countries.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Country Risk Analysts typically perform the following duties:
- Analyze political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal (PESTEL) factors that may impact a country's or region's stability and investment climate
- Develop and maintain databases of country risk information
- Provide risk assessments and recommendations to company management
- Monitor and track country risk events
- Write reports and present findings to clients
Country Risk Analysts may also be involved in the following activities:
- Developing and implementing risk management strategies
- Training employees on risk management
- Conducting due diligence on potential investments
- Providing advice on political and economic issues
