User Experience (UX) Engineer
Interested in the ability to improve the daily lives of every man, woman and child who uses a digital product or service? UX Engineering is the perfect career path for individuals with strong design and technical skills who seek to enhance the overall user experience.
Getting Started in UX Engineering
UX Engineers are a blend of UX designers and software engineers, and thus require a combination of design and technical skills. Many professionals in this field gain their skills through a Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction or a related field, and/or a Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field. A Master's degree will most likely provide you with a stronger foundation in the technical aspects of the role, as well as provide you with the opportunity to engage in research projects while building relationships with faculty and other students in your field.
While a degree can provide you with a strong foundation in the field, it is not a requirement. UX Engineers come from a diverse range of academic backgrounds and many begin their journeys in this field through the completion of online courses while simultaneously building a UX-related portfolio.
