Directors of learning are responsible for the overall direction and management of learning and development programs within an organization. They work closely with other members of the leadership team to ensure that learning and development programs are aligned with the organization’s strategic goals. They also work with subject matter experts to develop and deliver learning content, and they track and evaluate the effectiveness of learning and development programs.

How to Become a Director of Learning

There are a number of different paths to becoming a director of learning. Some directors of learning have a background in education, while others have a background in human resources or organizational development. Many directors of learning also have a master’s degree in education, human resources, or organizational development.
