Education is not the only factor that determines eligibility for becoming a Homeland Security Agent, which is a career that can be entered at various levels, depending on factors such as age, education, and experience. The first step for those entering or re-entering the workforce is to apply for an entry-level position with one of the agencies within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or join a branch of military service. From that point, experience and performance determine promotions and career path.
