Médecin gériatre
Gériatres are medical doctors who specialize in the care of older adults. They are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of health conditions that are common in older people, such as dementia, heart disease, and cancer. Gériatres also provide preventive care and counseling to help older adults stay healthy and independent.
Education and Training
To become a gériatre, you must first complete medical school and obtain a medical degree (MD) or a doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO) degree. After medical school, you must complete a residency program in geriatrics. Residency programs typically last for three years and provide you with supervised clinical experience in the care of older adults.

Gériatres must have a strong understanding of the medical conditions that are common in older adults, as well as the unique needs of this population. They must also be skilled in providing preventive care and counseling to help older adults stay healthy and independent.
