Neonatal Physician Assistant
Neonatal Physician Assistants are healthcare professionals who provide medical care to newborns and their families. They work under the supervision of a neonatologist, a doctor who specializes in newborn care. Neonatal Physician Assistants perform a variety of tasks, including:
- Providing routine care to newborns, such as feeding, bathing, and changing diapers
- Assessing newborns for health problems
- Performing physical exams
- Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests
- Prescribing medications
- Counseling families on newborn care
Skills and Education
