Dairy Extension Agent
A Dairy Extension Agent plays a vital role in the dairy industry by providing education, research-based information, and technical assistance to dairy producers and the general public. They work closely with dairy farmers to help them improve the health and productivity of their herds, adopt new technologies, and comply with regulatory requirements. Extension Agents also work with consumers to educate them about the importance of dairy products, proper nutrition, and food safety.
Education and Training
Most Dairy Extension Agents have a Bachelor's degree in dairy science, animal science, or a related field. They typically also have experience working in the dairy industry, either on a dairy farm or in a related field such as veterinary medicine or nutrition. Some Extension Agents also have a Master's degree or a PhD in dairy science or a related field.
