SketchUp is a 3D modeling computer program for a wide range of drawing applications such as architectural, interior design, landscape architecture, civil and mechanical engineering, film and video game design.

Because of its simplicity, SketchUp can be used by anyone of any age. The only requirement is having the skills and an enormous desire to learn.

Contents

  • The first section of Design your Garden using Sketchup is focused on the installation of the software, setting up the 3D Workspace and getting familiar with the Basic Tools. This course was recently updated to SketchUp 2021.

  • The second section of Design your Garden using Sketchup is focused on building the Sample Site, where you're going to work in. In this section you are going to get acquainted with the 3D Warehouse (a large virtual library where you can find all kinds of 3D material to download and use in your SketchUp models), and with the housing project that I preapared just for you.

  • The third section of Design your Garden using Sketchup is focused on the Landscape Design Principles, applied to a sample house backyard. In this section you will learn how to give your garden Distribution and Structure according to Sun Position and Shadows given from the Sketchup's Geo-Location Tool.

  • The fourth section of Design your Garden using Sketchup is focused on the Design itself. In this section you are going to learn how to make a Garden’s Masterplan (schematic design based on the need and use of your space). After this, you are going to learn in detail how to design and model the Garden's Paths, where to put your Plants, how to model your Terrace and and where you can put your Swimming Pool.

When you have finished Design your Garden using Sketchup you will be able to create wonderful Garden Designs and you will be ready to improve your own garden or get some clients to improve their's.
