Module 3

This course is a part of 7th grade (Eureka Math/EngageNY), a 6-course Topic series from Khan Academy.

"Module 3 consolidates and expands students’ previous work with generating equivalent expressions and solving equations. Students solve real-life and mathematical problems using numerical and algebraic expressions and equations. This course contains 3 segments:

Topic A: Use properties of operations to generate equivalent expressions

Topic A includes lessons 1-6 and covers generating equivalent expressions, writing products as sums and sums as products, using the identity and inverse to write equivalent expressions, and collecting rational number like terms.

Topic B: Solve problems using expressions, equations, and inequalities

Topic B includes lessons 7-15 and covers understanding equations, using if-then moves in solving equations, angle problems and solving equations, properties of inequalities, inequalities, solving inequalities, and graphing solutions to inequalities. (Currently, we do not have content for Lesson 9.)

Topic C: Use equations and inequalities to solve geometry problems

Topic C includes lessons 16-26 and covers the most famous ratio of all, the area of a circle, more problems on area and circumference, unknown area problems on the coordinate plane, composite area problems, surface area, the volume of a right prism, and volume and surface area. (Currently, we do not have content for Lesson 18.)
