This course will teach you Sisense functions that can be defined and applied to transform data into a form that fulfills your data analysis requirements.
Sisense is a popular business intelligence platform, which makes it easy to build rich, interactive, and very high-performance dashboards. Data used in business intelligence usually requires some modification before it can be analyzed, and data in Sisense is no exception - which is why Sisense makes it very easy for users to pre-process data using functions.
In this course, Understanding and Creating Functions in Sisense, you’ll learn to define functions which apply the required transformations on data.
First, you’ll explore the different types of functions available, the types of data they can be applied to, and their use cases. You will focus on using logical functions, as well as functions for working with dates and times, and those for string manipulation.
Next, you’ll discover how custom fields as well as tables can be created using functions. Custom fields and custom tables can both be created easily using SQL, which is well-supported by Sisense.
Finally, you’ll learn how to perform complex tasks such as joins and lookups using functions. This will include learning how to denormalize data that has been pulled in from a normalized source such as a relational database.
When you’re finished with this course, you’ll have the skills and knowledge of Sisense functions needed to create a data model which is easy to analyze and delivers high-performing visuals for your end users.
