What people are saying

fl studio

Her ability shown in the tutorials in her course is of a person who just started using Fl Studio.

Karleen even showed us how to import plugins into FL Studio something all my other courses that I have paid for didn't do.

I already know a lot of the general music stuff Not fully, it wasn't useful in terms of helping me become a better songwriter although it has managed to get me to know a little more about how music is made through FL studio.

"I thought coming into this course, that I might not have been able to get as much out of it because I have a decent understanding of music theory and I've worked with FL Studio before.

I had a very minimal hobbiest music background (1 year of casual study/practice) coming into this course, and slight familiarity with Unity and FL Studio.

The music in this course is done in FL Studio and the DAW side of things is relatively light, so you will likely need to get to know your DAW of choice yourself as you go along.

Apart from the fact that anything regarding fl studio was tiring for me because im used to other daws the course was very good.It might put some limitations on for example all those rules on composing a battle theme vs a boss theme but those limitations in the end are what will make the final game sound like an actual jrpg/western rpg I enrolled to this course because i wanted to improve my skills and learn new techniques and this is what i found: If you're already started in producing or composing music this course is definetely not for you(i found lots of lessons very slow and repetetive, she spends 10 minutes to explain something she could have done in 2 minutes)...but i found really interesting the FMOD mudule in the end!

So you will never get bored, and will often feel the urge to pause the course and play with FL studio on your own and see what wonderful sounds you can come up with.

This has been a great introduction on the layout and some of the functions of FL Studio.

Might be worth mentioning that FL Studio is, at minimum, another $99.

(FL Studio 12.)

Honestly, I was at a loss trying to learn FL Studio through popular tutorial channels on youtube.

She is using FL studio in this course, I would advice to buy it, because all new release will you get for free from image line afther buying it.

I think this is a very good basics course since this is not only teaching me about Fl Studio 12 but the steps on to plan your song before you even touch FL Studio 12.

This is a wonderful course, and if you're trying to learn game music production then this is the fit for you!

too much

The only point of criticism concerns section 9: I think engaging us in the whole composition process at this stage was a bit too much of the same.

I like the very practical apporach directly to the point, without talking too much about details.

Maintains a good balance of enough music theory to allow the student to make good music but not too much as to be confusing or needlessly complicated.

Excelente curso, te enseña lo absolutamente necesario si te encuentras en cero conocimientos sobre música o uso de software It's great, I just feel that it doesn't have too much depth in terms of the concepts it covers I like the course so far, i want to learn music theory more so I can know what to hear for, and know what sounds good.
