Müssen Theologen eigentlich alles glauben, was in der Bibel steht? Oder wie gehen sie damit um?

In diesem Kurs erhalten Sie grundlegende Informationen über die historischen Hintergründe zur Entstehung der Bibel, ihre Inhalte und Weisen der Auslegung der Texte. Die Bibel wird dabei verstanden als ein Zeugnis eines vielstimmigen theologischen Gesprächs, das die vielen damaligen biblischen Autoren miteinander führten, und das nun Gegenstand wissenschaftlicher Analyse ist.

Beim Blick auf die verschiedenen Teile des sogenannten „Buches der Bücher“ werden Ihnen die Inhalte kurz dargestellt, der Fokus liegt aber auf der Behandlung bekannter kritischer Fragen (z.B. Schöpfung oder Darwin?) und auf Überlegungen, warum wohl wer diese Texte einst verfasst hat.

Vorwissen zur Bibel wird für diesen Kurs nicht benötigt.

Syllabus

Woche 1: Nach einem kurzen grundlegenden Überblick über den Aufbau der Bibel als Ganze werden in der ersten Woche zwei Themen besprochen: Die historischen Hintergründe der Entstehung der alttestamentlichen Schriften und ein Überblick über die Bücher des Alten Testaments.

Woche 2: Der zweite Kursabschnitt widmet sich der Frage, welche Bedeutung eine „heilige Schrift“ für die Identität von Religionsgemeinschaften hat und wie der Prozess zur Definition einer „heiligen“ Schrift bei der Bibel verlaufen ist.
Woche 3: Der dritte Kursabschnitt widmet sich vollständig dem Inhalt und der Entstehung des Neuen Testaments vor dem historischen Hintergrund.
Woche 4: Das Konzept einer „heiligen Schrift“ impliziert, dass die Religionsgemeinschaften immer vor der Herausforderung der Anwendung, d.h. Auslegung stehen. In diesem vierten Kursabschnitt wird in einem geschichtlichen Durchgang die Entwicklung der Schriftauslegung im Christentum vorgestellt. Abschließend wird in zwei Beispielen die Frage nach angemessener Auslegung aufgeworfen.
