Review from Sam: Revolutionary way to learn chord progression.
Already knew circle of 5ths when I first learned theory, but didn't know that it also can be used to chord progression for every key.
Rosa structured the whole course in such a detail where it takes you from a player who can't play without score to a player who can start playing simple songs by ear. But what is more important is that you can advance further from there by playing in different keys, exploring more advanced chords using her concept.

Even if you are an advanced player, I think this course still can help you build a solid foundation in understanding the chord progression in more details.

Chord I
Chord IV
Chord V7
--------------------
1. Song usually always begin with Chord I
2. Use the circle to predict the next Basic Chord: Either Chord IV or Chord V7

3. V7 creates a tension in music.
4. V7 wants to resolve to another chord.
5. Most of the time, V7 wants to resolve to Chord I, the Home base chord, the chord the Key is in.
6. V7 resolves to I
7. This is called Plagal Cadence.
8. V7 to I has an ending sound.
9. You feel good hearing V7 going to I
10. This is what you often hear at the end of the song.
After the applause, everyone claps their hands because the song has ended beautifully! It is V7 to I. You didn't know that before? Now you do! :)

Learn all the Tips of the Magic Circle - That's all you need at the piano!
If you know how to practice your techniques, your scales, your chords using the Circle movement (which we will talk about in later lectures), you will know this circle inside out that you can hear how music work harmoniously to one another, how the tones lead from one to the other... and one day, you discover - hey, I can play by ear!
This was my journey.
This will be your journey too! :)
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas:
1. Do you notice that this song has a pattern?
2. Actually a lot of songs have this pattern.
3. How do you identify patterns? You look at the chord progression of the song
4. This song repeats this chord progression: 1 6 2 5
5. 1 6 2 5 repeats in every 2 measures
6. If you know how to play 1 6 2 5 in the first 2 measures, you will be able to play 1 6 2 5 in the rest of the measures.
7. Look at the Circle Movement: The chord progression moves counter clockwise from Am7 to Dm7 to G7 and back to C. It is a 6251 chord progression going back to the Home Chord.
Heart and Soul - 1625 Chord Progression
