Ce cours a également pour but de démontrer non seulement que certaines pédagogies peu connues peuvent représenter des alternatives viables à la conception actuelle dominante de l'éducation, mais qu'elles sont aussi susceptibles de s'articuler à la forme scolaire contemporaine en répondant aux besoins spécifiques de certain-es apprenant-es ou aux nouveaux défis planétaires tel que le développement durable.

À travers ces pédagogies, la prise en compte des cultures des apprenant-es peut être facilitée et peut ainsi rendre plus pertinents les apprentissages scolaires et extrascolaires. C’est dans ce but que nous avons réalisé ce MOOC.

Crises de la forme scolaire et émergence des alternatives pédagogiques du Sud
Dans ce module, nous verrons ensemble ce qu'est la forme scolaire. Nous aborderons tout d’abord son origine historique ainsi que ses multiples caractéristiques. Cela vous permettra de comprendre les conditions ayant permis sa domination, autrement dit l’hégémonie d’une forme scolaire spécifique. Dans un deuxième temps, vous découvrirez les crises globales actuelles que traverse la forme scolaire et leurs conséquences sur l’apprentissage. Enfin, nous vous inviterons à vous décentrer afin de découvrir le potentiel d’innovation et de changement amené par les alternatives pédagogiques du Sud.
Les savoirs pédagogiques indigènes
Ce module vous permettra de découvrir des pédagogies indigènes ancestrales en vous familiarisant avec leurs fondements et leurs liens particuliers avec les savoirs, la nature, la terre, la communauté ou encore la spiritualité. Au fil des leçons, nous aborderons avec respect les différentes dimensions composant les postures pédagogiques indigènes ainsi que les pratiques spécifiques de transmission du savoir. Enfin, nous vous inviterons à questionner les enjeux politiques et sociaux autour de la scolarité des populations indigènes. Dans cette dernière partie, nous interrogerons également les potentialités du concept de Buen Vivir pour mettre en perspective les manières dont l’éducation est habituellement conçue.
Les traditions pédagogiques et les penseurs éducatifs africains
Ce module vous permettra d’entrer dans l’univers passionnant des pédagogies traditionnelles africaines, leurs fondements et leurs orientations. Pour les comprendre, nous vous présenterons les conceptions de l’enfance et du savoir qui leur sont sous-jacentes ainsi que les pratiques pédagogiques visant la transmission des connaissances en Afrique. Dans une seconde partie du module, nous vous présenterons les œuvres de quatre penseurs africains de l’éducation. Cette présentation sera l’occasion de partager avec vous le caractère toujours ambigu de l’aventure scolaire contemporaine en Afrique.
Les traditions pédagogiques et les penseurs éducatifs asiatiques
Ce module vous présentera un aperçu non exhaustif de certaines pédagogies traditionnelles asiatiques. A l’instar des pédagogies traditionnelles indigènes ou africaines, vous serez amenés à identifier les liens entre spiritualité et pédagogie. A travers différentes ressources, nous vous présenterons les manières dont le savoir est conçu et transmis (par exemple, à travers la méditation). Ensuite, nous partagerons avec vous les transpositions possibles des pédagogies asiatiques dans les modèles éducatifs contemporains tout en interrogeant les tensions que ces transpositions impliquent. A travers les enseignements du module, vous serez familiarisés avec les concepts de « méditation pleine conscience » (Mindfulness) et de Bonheur Intérieur Brut (BIB).
L'éducation populaire latino-américaine d'inspiration freirienne
Ce module vous permettra de découvrir la richesse de l'éducation populaire latino-américaine et en particulier l’approche du pédagogue brésilien Paulo Freire dont l'approche de l’éducation est l’une des plus mobilisées partout dans le monde. L’éducation populaire latino-américaine a été fortement façonnée par les apports de Freire. Nous analyserons son œuvre et les influences multiples qui l’ont façonnée allant du christianisme (théologie de la libération), en passant par le marxisme et la lutte anticoloniale et postcoloniale. Dans une dernière partie du module, les perspectives d’application des idées de Freire dans l'éducation contemporaine seront discutées.
La portée universelle et métissée des pédagogies alternatives du Sud
Dans ce dernier module, nous partageons avec vous les différentes leçons, perspectives et principes fondateurs des pédagogies alternatives du Sud. Nous utiliserons quatre axes transversaux à tous les modules pour vous permettre de synthétiser les potentialités de ces pédagogies: impérialisme cognitif, complexité, approche holistique, durabilité
