В результате освоения дисциплины студент осваивает компетенции и дескрипторы: а) умение осуществлять типологический подход и группировку различных социально-экономических явлений и процессов, происходящих в городах разных стран и регионов; б) умение сопоставлять между собой социально-экономические показатели и находить закономерности; в) умение анализировать современные социально-экономические процессы на разном масштабном уровне, прогнозировать их развитие; г) способность дать экономико-географическую характеристику территории (города, региона, страны) на основе анализа исторических, экономических, социальных, статистических данных о природных условиях и ресурсах, населении и хозяйстве.
