Bipolar Junction Transistors, often abbreviated as BJTs, are essential components in a wide range of electronic circuits and devices. Understanding Bipolar Junction Transistors
BJTs are composed of three layers of semiconductor materials – two layers of the same type (either p-type or n-type) separated by a thin layer of the opposite type. This unique structure creates two junctions, a p-n junction, and an n-p junction, which are responsible for the transistor's behavior. When a voltage is applied to the base terminal, it controls the current flow between the emitter and collector terminals, making BJTs effective amplifiers and switches.
