Greetings are far more than simple pleasantries; they are fundamental social rituals that underpin human interaction. At a high level, a greeting is an act of communication in which human beings intentionally make their presence known to each other, to show attention to, and to suggest a type of relationship or social status between individuals or groups of people coming in contact with each other. These initial moments of contact set the tone for subsequent interactions and play a crucial role in forming and maintaining relationships, whether personal or professional. The way we greet one another can convey respect, warmth, indifference, or even hostility, often in a matter of seconds.
