Why is chemical structure important?

Chemical structure is important for several reasons. First, it allows us to understand the behavior of molecules. By knowing the arrangement of atoms and bonds, we can predict how molecules will react with each other.

Second, knowing the chemical structure of molecules allows us to develop new materials. By manipulating the chemical structure of a material, we can change its properties, such as its strength, flexibility, or conductivity.
