The National Basketball Association (NBA) is the world's premier professional basketball league. It is composed of 30 teams divided into two conferences: the Eastern and Western Conferences. Each conference is further divided into three divisions: the Atlantic, Central, and Southeast Divisions in the East, and the Northwest, Pacific, and Southwest Divisions in the West. The regular season runs from October to April, with each team playing 82 games. The top 16 teams from each conference qualify for the playoffs, which culminate in the NBA Finals, a best-of-seven series between the Eastern and Western Conference champions.
