Ethernet/IP (Industrial Protocol) is an industrial Ethernet protocol originally developed by Rockwell Automation for use in industrial automation applications. It is a widely used standard for manufacturing and industrial automation, and is commonly used in discrete and process applications. In discrete applications, it is often used to control individual machines or devices, while in process applications, it is used to control the process itself.
