Chemical kinetics is the study of the rates of chemical reactions.
It is a branch of physical chemistry that seeks to understand the mechanisms and factors that influence the speed at which chemical reactions occur. Chemical kinetics has applications in many fields including, but not limited to, industrial chemistry, environmental chemistry, and biochemistry.
Why Study Chemical Kinetics?
There are many reasons why someone might want to learn about chemical kinetics. Some people are simply curious about how the world around them works. Others may be interested in learning about chemical kinetics because they are planning to pursue a career in a field that uses this knowledge, such as chemistry, engineering, or medicine. Still others may want to learn about chemical kinetics to improve their understanding of other scientific disciplines, such as physics or biology.
