What is Partnership?
Partnership is a legal relationship between two or more people who join together to pursue a common goal. Partnerships typically involve business ventures, but they can also arise in a variety of other contexts, such as when two or more people share ownership of a home. Partnerships are governed by state law, and the rules governing them can vary from state to state.
There are two main types of partnerships: general partnerships and limited partnerships. In a general partnership, all partners are jointly liable for the debts and obligations of the partnership. This means that if the partnership owes money to a third party, any of the partners can be held personally liable for the debt. In a limited partnership, however, only the general partners are personally liable for the partnership’s debts and obligations. Limited partners are only liable for the amount of money that they invested in the partnership.
