Chief Academic Officer
Chief Academic Officers are executives responsible for the vision, planning, implementation, and oversight of the academic enterprise at an institution of higher learning. They will work hand-in-hand with other campus leaders to advance the institution's mission, strategic goals, and educational priorities. These industry experts play a vital role in maintaining the academic integrity and quality of an institution's programs and faculty, fostering cutting-edge research and scholarship, fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion, ensuring fiscal health and resource allocation, and supporting student achievement at all levels.
Academic Leadership
Chief Academic Officers work closely with the president and board of trustees to develop and articulate the institution's educational vision and priorities. They are responsible for leading and coordinating the faculty in the development, implementation, and evaluation of academic programs and initiatives, and for ensuring the quality and rigor of instruction. In addition to enhancing the student experience, Chief Academic Officers work with faculty to revise and develop the curriculum, ensure student success and monitor and improve teaching effectiveness. They also oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures that support the academic mission of the institution.
Chief Academic Officers collaborate with faculty to promote research and scholarship and ensure the institution is on the cutting-edge of knowledge. They support faculty development and research initiatives, promote interdisciplinary collaboration and oversee the allocation of resources to support research activities.
