Chinese Librarian is a specialized role in librarianship that focuses on the collection, preservation, and dissemination of Chinese-language materials. Chinese Librarians are responsible for building and maintaining collections of Chinese-language books, periodicals, and other resources, as well as providing reference and research services to users. They may also work with Chinese-speaking communities to provide cultural and educational programming.
Education and Training
Chinese Librarians typically have a Master of Library Science (MLS) degree from an accredited library school. Some Chinese Librarians also have a bachelor's degree in Chinese studies or a related field. In addition to their formal education, Chinese Librarians must be proficient in Chinese language and culture. They must also be familiar with the Chinese library system and the resources available to Chinese-language users.
