Basic Responsibilities

Becoming a Finance Professor requires obtaining a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in a finance-related discipline. Most pursue a bachelor's degree in finance (B.S. Finance), then a master's (M.S. Finance) before entering a Ph.D. program.

Skills

Finance Professors should have excellent teaching skills, as they are responsible for educating students in the classroom and mentoring them outside of class. They should have strong research skills, including the ability to analyze data, write research papers, and present their findings. They must also be well-versed in the field of finance to teach students effectively.

Personal Qualities

Successful Finance Professors are typically passionate about teaching and research. They must possess an in-depth understanding of financial concepts and must be able to communicate complex ideas clearly.
