Rare Book Librarian
A Rare Book Librarian is responsible for the care and preservation of rare and valuable books and manuscripts. This may include books that are historically significant, first editions, or contain unique illustrations or bindings. Rare Book Librarians may also be responsible for the organization and cataloging of rare book collections, as well as providing reference and research assistance to patrons.
Skills and Knowledge
Rare Book Librarians typically have a Master's degree in Library Science or a related field. They should also have a strong understanding of rare book conservation and preservation techniques. Additionally, Rare Book Librarians should have excellent organizational and research skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
