Chemical engineers are responsible for designing, constructing, and operating chemical plants, as well as for the development, production, and use of chemicals. They apply the principles of chemistry, physics, and mathematics to solve problems involving the production, transport, and use of chemicals, as well as the design and operation of chemical plants.

Responsibilities

Chemical engineers typically do the following:

Design and develop new products and processes
Operate and maintain chemical plants
Conduct research to improve the efficiency and safety of chemical processes
Manage and supervise the work of other engineers and technicians
Prepare technical reports and presentations
