Primary School Teachers are responsible for the education and development of children from Kindergarten to Grade 6. They help children develop academically, socially, and emotionally and ensure a love of learning that will follow them throughout life. They are responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons, managing classrooms, assessing students' progress, and working with parents and colleagues to ensure each student reaches their full potential.

Education and Training

The first step to becoming a Primary School Teacher is to complete a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field. Several teacher preparation programs are available, and you must choose one accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). These programs include student teaching, where you will gain hands-on experience in a classroom setting.
