Korean Librarian
Korean Librarians specialize in serving the Korean community, providing access to Korean language materials and resources in libraries and other settings. They may work in public libraries, universities, or other organizations that serve Korean-speaking populations. Some Korean Librarians also work as translators or interpreters in addition to their library duties.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
On a typical day, a Korean Librarian might:
- Select and acquire Korean language materials for the library collection
- Catalog and organize Korean language materials
- Assist patrons with finding and using Korean language materials
- Provide reference and research assistance in Korean
- Develop and present programs and workshops on Korean culture and language
- Collaborate with other librarians and community organizations to provide outreach services to the Korean community
Korean Librarians may also be involved in other activities such as:
- Teaching Korean language classes
- Translating or interpreting documents
- Conducting research on Korean culture and language
- Participating in professional development activities
