"Sometimes hearing the word “statistics” does not warm the heart of the receiver or inspire confidence. Building comfort and confidence generating and interpreting statistics is key to expanding our data fluency because when we can interpret statistics, we can understand data and leverage it. Confidently interpreting statistics enables us to understand what people need and want, to problem-solve, and to take big data and make it manageable so that we can mine it for insights that benefit our organizations and our world. In your Calculate Basic Descriptive Statistics in Google Sheets project, you will gain hands-on experience calculating and interpreting basic descriptive statistics. And while you are refreshing on statistical terms, you will conduct a simple statistical analysis to gain insights from the data. To do this you will work in the free-to-use spreadsheet software Google Sheets. By the end of this project, you will be able to confidently identify useful descriptive statistics and calculate them using any spreadsheet software to aid in understanding a data set. Note: This course works best for learners who are based in the North America region. We’re currently working on providing the same experience in other regions."
