In case anyone is wondering, 503 minutes (this is a "503-minute" course) is about 8 hours. But if you're a total newb like me, you'll want to spend more time practicing basic HTML and CSS until it's automatic. The instructor, Nick, is really clear about what he's doing, step by step. It's very easy for someone who's new (take it from me) to follow along. There are some downsides, but it's not enough to knock a star off. For one, sometimes the files from the Workspaces are inconsistent with what's in the video. For example, if there's a <p> tag in the video, for some weird reason it's a <span> tag in the files, and that slightly affects the outcome. Spotting these little differences, if anything, actually made me better at debugging. We'll call this bug from treehouse a feature ;)

Highly recommend this series as it takes you from being an internet consumer to being able to build a website (I won't say "web developer" because you'd really need to take the more extensive 50hr track). Perfect for making a portfolio / "about me" website. I recommend taking a couple of Treehouse design courses. The typography one does wonders for simple websites.

I needed to build a simple website in one week, this course (and other resources on treehouse) helped me do just that.
