What people are saying

pg admin

could have done with a full explanation of pg admin and database and tables at the start before coding language still not sure i understand enough The course was very useful as an introduction.

Overall it was great but I was expecting more on topics on PG admin tools like Event Triggers, Casts, Catalogs.

However, the latest versions, as of Feb-2019, are PostgreSQL 11.x and PG Admin 4.X.

I didn't face any major issues and I have managed to run all the scripts with PostgreSQL 11.x and PG Admin 4.x on my Mac.

Update: used earlier pg admin version and it works fine now.

The beginning of the course stresses DB backups and restores with PG admin and is a great way to start.

I like the demonstration using pg admin Great course.

group by

The section about GROUP BY and HAVING was nicely done.

I was always confused in GROUP BY and was avoiding using it my real work place but now I am really confident.

The explanation is very easy to understand, specially the complex concepts such as group by, joins etc.

good so far Easy to understand It is a great refresher, and also I learned the difference between Group by and having.

Completed the GROUP BY and Having with ease.

I had followed several SQL courses on TreeHouse and CodeCademy, and even though their courses are really good, the "group by" clause is overlooked by both!

All he said was they're normally used with the GROUP BY clause.

boot camp

Learn more staff from the boot camp.

I have passes already 2 courses with Jose, 1-Python Boot Camp from Zero Hero 2-Python for Machine Learning and Data Science Boot Camp I am pretty satisfied with Jose method of teachings.

To me a Boot Camp course covers almost everything you would need to know, if not it should be broken into beginner, intermediate and advanced type classes.

It's very intuitive and guidance provided is magnificent.. Good and well thought out boot camp for SQL Jose Portilla it is a great professor always keep all things simple and breaking complex concepts in simple ones.

This really is a boot camp course, it covers a lot of material, so be prepared to watch and rewatch videos to understand concepts, especially if you're new to databases.

I took a live SQL boot camp from another company and left completely confused.

Considering that the title said "*Complete* Boot Camp", I expected the instructor to go into a lot more detail and into some advanced topics like partitioning which he didn't, though.

well put together

The course was really well put together, it has given me real confidence in terms of query writing and my general understanding of PostgreSQL.

Easy to follow, examples and challenges well put together.

This class is very well put together in easily digestible chunks, and the challenges are great for comprehension using real world questions/scenarios, rather than simple true and false questions like most other classes I've taken on here.

Extremely well put together.

Great course, starts for beginners and advanced with a nice speed and a great teacher Super straight forward and easy to follow was a good match for me Only the basics Very well put together course and covers everything to feel confident to use in work setting.

There was some missing clarity on the process of downloading the .tar file and navigating through the pgadmin website, although overall it was very well put together.

It was a very well put together and taught course.

complete sql bootcamp

The Complete SQL Bootcamp deals with basics to advanced syntax related to PostgreSQL database.

Good as an introduction, but "complete SQL bootcamp" it is not.

The complete SQL bootcamp enabled me to dive back into work I haven't done in 10 years.

really helps for the begineers yes it was good and interesting course we learned about the various join types and i learned more information about the complete SQL Bootcamp I enjoyed the course a lot.

I was not disappointed in the Complete SQL Bootcamp.

I learnt so much This course is called complete SQL Bootcamp, though the instructor coverts the major aspect of SQL, but some more advanced features such as CTE and etc are not covered in this course.

It is The Complete SQL Bootcamp course by Jose Portilla.

command line

5/5 Yes, but I wish he explained how to specify the port number through the command line in case you have multiple PostGreSQL installations so you don't get an error; I had to look that up myself.

video met CMD prompt restore database lipe vast op het einde na de error van de melding van de command line The content is way too easy.

Failed miserably for Windows 10 version 10.4 of PostgreSQL If you cannot access the dvdrental.tar file with PostgreSQL using the command line, you are simply out of luck.

I understand directories and command line searches.

After Completed This SQL Bootcamp, I feel extremely confident Query Data, generate Reports, Create / Modify Databases and apply the different constraint to a table all in a Command Line interface.

It would have been nice if you included taking dumps and restores via command line and exploring the options within.

Might have liked to see a section on use pg from the command line, but it's easy enough to learn on your own.
