Information literacy is the set of integrated abilities encompassing the reflective discovery of information, the understanding of how information is produced and valued, and the use of information in creating new knowledge and participating ethically in communities of learning (ACRL, 2016). The course Information Literacy discusses methodology and skills around information. The methods and skills will benefit you the whole life, no matter what is your age now and what is your professional background.

At the beginning of the course, some senior professors and some students express their understanding of information literacy. Then you can check your general competency related to information literacy by yourself.

The topics of the course include information resources, information retrieval, finding facts & figures, open access, search engine, academic community & norm, personal knowledge management, et al.

This course aims to improve your information literacy to support your access to accurate, authoritative and valuable information during your learning, living and academic researching.
