Radiology is the medical specialty that uses imaging techniques to diagnose and treat diseases and injuries. Radiologists are medical doctors who have completed additional training in medical imaging techniques, such as x-rays, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and ultrasound.
What Does a Radiologist Do?
Radiologists use imaging techniques to create images of the inside of the body. These images can be used to diagnose a variety of conditions, such as cancer, heart disease, and bone fractures. Radiologists also use imaging techniques to guide minimally invasive procedures, such as biopsies and tumor removals.
