Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routing is a widely adopted internet standard routing protocol for exchanging routing and reachability information among autonomous systems on the internet. BGP is a path vector protocol, which means that it advertises paths to networks rather than just next-hop information. BGP is used to exchange routing information between different networks, such as between an internet service provider (ISP) and its customers, or between two different ISPs.
