The Universe encompasses all of space and time and everything within it – all forms of matter and energy, fundamental interactions, physical processes, and physical constants. It's a vast expanse, from the smallest subatomic particles to the immense filaments of galaxies. Modern cosmology, the study of the Universe's origin and evolution, tells us that space and time emerged together approximately 13.787 billion years ago in an event known as the Big Bang, and the Universe has been expanding ever since. While the portion of the Universe we can currently observe is about 93 billion light-years in diameter, its total size remains unknown.
