Executive Vice President of Operations
The Executive Vice President of Operations (EVP) is not a common role within an organization's operational hierarchy. The most direct path into this role is to first gain experience leading a team or unit as a Vice President of Operations. The EVP may work with the board of directors and the CEO on overall company strategy and make decisions that affect all of an organization's operations. This executive, who reports directly to the CEO, will oversee all aspects of an organization's operations, ensuring that all aspects of daily operations run smoothly and in accordance with the overall business strategy.

The EVP is a role that supports the CEO in defining and executing the strategic vision and mission of the organization. In addition, this role manages operational activities, including the allocation of resources, improvement of processes, and oversight of projects. This executive oversees the management of major improvement projects, including aspects related to strategy, technology, and process.
Oversee Operations
The EVP is responsible for the planning and executing of all operational activities within the organization. This includes managing all aspects of the supply chain, including purchasing, inventory management, and logistics. It also may include oversight of the development and launch of new products or services.
