Never get lost because the street signs are in Thai only
Impress your friends and write down their order in Thai in a local restaurant
Finally understand what you've been doing wrong all the time when speaking Thai
All of the sudden the tonal part of the language will make sense. And after learning to read it'll be much easier to remember the tone of a word. Better yet, by just asking a Thai friend how a word is spelled you will be able to know with a 100% certainty how to pronounce that word, and you'll never have to guess the tone anymore.

The 9 Mid-Class Consonants
Every language has vowels. But Thai has some very special vowels! Long Vowels and Short Vowels for example!
Now that you now some Consonants, I'll teach you 4 vowels first so that you can start using the language Right Away! Come on! Let's read some words!

The list might be long, but all these vowels are short.
Some Thai vowels aren't really long or short. They go by the rules of Long Vowels, but they sound rather short.
Why you can't say pzrewalski horse.
I know, I know, I said every syllable contains at least 1 vowel, but... don't worry.. I'll explain.
