Первая и непосредственная задача курса – как это следует из самого названия – формальное и систематическое изучение основных принципов общей социологической теории. Мы будем двигаться от простейшего к сложному – от этапа социализации как включения человека в ход социальной жизни через понятия социальных норм, статусов, социального контроля, к представлению о нормативных системах и социальной структуре к объяснению социального неравенства и далее к пониманию действия социальных институтов и организаций. Но есть у этого курса и сверхзадача. Ведь кроме достаточно формального понятия «изучение» есть такое понятие как «постижение». Студент должен не просто узнать и запомнить какие-то сведения, но и научиться большему, а именно: - научиться видеть глубинное и стабильное в пёстром многообразии и изменчивости жизни социума; - усматривать принудительность в том, что кажется человеку результатом его собственного свободного выбора; - в самых «крутых» инновациях открывать если не вечное, то повторяющееся; - научиться понимать, от чего мы ушли и к чему идем, то есть видеть общее направление, общую тенденцию изменения и развития общества. Выработка или, по крайней мере, начало выработки таких вот способностей постижения и есть сверхзадача курса. Когда ставятся такие значительные задачи и сверхзадачи, работать приходится в широчайшем диапазоне. Так в одной из первых лекций нам предстоит понять, как возникает культура, и в чем ее сущность. И это опираясь на библейский рассказ об Адаме и Еве, их жизни в Эдемском саду, грехопадении и последующем изгнании из рая. А в последней лекции мы будем говорить о постмодерне и о таком новейшем явлении как «осетевление», то есть становление сетевого общества
