Casi todos hemos tenido alguna experiencia, propia o a través de la observación de otros, pero difícilmente podamos definirla. Si preguntamos ¿qué es el liderazgo?, existirán tantas definiciones como personas a las que interpelemos. A lo largo del curso se realizará un recorrido siguiendo el marco conceptual que se describe a continuación.

En el primer módulo, se analizará el concepto de “liderazgo” y las dimensiones que lo componen, poniendo énfasis en el proceso motivacional entendido como uno de los roles principales de quien ejerce la conducción.

En el segundo módulo, se analizarán cuestiones que tienen que ver con las tendencias naturales de cada individuo, es decir, la presencia o la ausencia de carisma, la influencia de los estilos personales y las orientaciones valorativas de cada persona.

En el tercer módulo, se analizará la relación del líder con sus colaboradores, teniendo en cuenta las características de la situación y algunas cuestiones vinculadas al liderazgo de equipos de trabajo.

En el cuarto módulo, se profundizará en la relación entre los conceptos de “autoridad”, “liderazgo” y “poder” en el contexto organizacional y se hará una descripción de comportamientos de liderazgo que son nocivos, aunque suelan ser bastante habituales.

Además de los desarrollos teórico-prácticos, se incluyen otras actividades adicionales, tales como la resolución de algunos casos y la posibilidad de utilizar herramientas de autodiagnóstico para que cada participante pueda profundizar su autoconocimiento y tener un diagnóstico que le permita identificar los aspectos a mejorar para optimizar su actividad como líder.

Objetivos del curso:

• Conocer la esencia y los elementos que componen el proceso de liderazgo.

• Analizar la incidencia de los rasgos personales que forman la dotación biológica de cada individuo.

• Incorporar casos de estudio que permitan visualizar la aplicación práctica de los conceptos desarrollados.

• Entender la vinculación que existe entre los conceptos de “autoridad”, “poder” y “liderazgo”, a los efectos de evitar comportamientos de conducción nocivos, tanto para las personas como para la organización.

Los fundamentos
En este módulo, se trata de analizar y comprender en qué consiste el proceso interpersonal del liderazgo, identificar la diferencia entre “ser jefe” y “ser líder”. Además, se describen las cinco dimensiones del liderazgo (ethos, praxis, scopos, logos y pathos), a los efectos de identificar cuáles de ellas pueden modificarse a través de la capacitación y de la experiencia práctica y cuáles son mucho más difíciles de cambiar. Finalmente, se analiza el proceso de la motivación humana, poniendo énfasis en que cada ser humano tiene distintas prioridades motivacionales y se analiza el comportamiento de las principales variables que inciden sobre la motivación de los colaboradores.

Las tendencias individuales
En este módulo, se desarrollan aquellas cuestiones que están relacionadas con las características dominantes de cada individuo. En general, estos rasgos son de carácter innato, como por ejemplo el carisma, que es una poderosa herramienta para ejercer el liderazgo, pero que encierra también grandes riesgos en caso de ser mal utilizado. La diversidad es uno de los factores clave para explicar la mayoría de los conflictos interpersonales. Para poder entender el concepto de “diversidad” (del que surgen los estilos personales), vamos a realizar una rápida revisión de los avances que se han producido en la neurociencia y sus implicancias para el liderazgo. Por último, se desarrollan las orientaciones valorativas del liderazgo (hacia la tarea y hacia las personas) y el egocentrismo como la fuerza que las contrapesa.
El liderazgo situacional y los equipos de trabajo
En este módulo, se abordan cuestiones vinculadas con la relación entre el líder y sus colaboradores, y la importancia de ejercer distintos estilos en distintas situaciones. Se desarrolla el modelo de liderazgo situacional, haciendo hincapié en su valor práctico y, posteriormente, se analiza la problemática del liderazgo de equipos de trabajo. En las organizaciones actuales, muchos equipos tienen el poder necesario para tomar decisiones que antes tomaban personas individuales. Cada equipo presenta un desafío único para el líder, por lo que no es bueno aferrarse a recetas demasiado rígidas. La clave del éxito es la adaptación mutua. El equipo adaptándose a la impronta que el líder quiere transmitir y el líder conociendo y aprovechando al máximo las capacidades y talentos de los miembros del equipo.
El liderazgo y el poder
En el último módulo, se realiza un análisis acerca de la naturaleza del poder y su relación con el concepto de “autoridad” y, por supuesto, su relación con el proceso de liderazgo. Se desarrolla el concepto de “zona de aceptación de la autoridad” a través de algunos ejemplos que surgen de estudios sociológicos realizados en la segunda mitad del siglo XX. Finalmente, se hace una descripción de algunos comportamientos que suelen verse con frecuencia en el ámbito organizacional y que suelen ser muy perjudiciales tanto para las personas involucradas como para la organización.
