In May 1917 Sir Malcolm Morris wrote in the prestigious British Medical Journal:

‘I hope to show that these preparations (colloids) are a very considerable advance in therapeutics. They act with single rapidity, free of disadvantages and its extensive use would effect an enormous economy and drug consumption"
