What is Lava Stone?

Lava Stone, (also known as Basalt, or Lava Rock) is an igneous volcanic rock. It has solidified from molten lava, after conditions of intense heat and pressure.

Lava Stone Healing Properties

Emotional Healing Properties. Because of the grounding qualities of the Lava, it calms the emotions with intense energy. Thought to be a rebirth stone that sheds unneeded emotional layers. It gives us strength and courage, allowing us stability through times of change. It provides guidance and understanding in situations where we may need to "bounce back".

Spiritual Healing Properties. Lava Stone stabilizes and is strongly connected to the earth as it comes from the Earth’s centre. Lava Stone is a grounding stone that strengthens one's connection to Mother Earth.

Lava Stone uses and meaning. Lava rocks are typically like other healing gemstones and should be worn as close to the skin as possible. Which is why wearing them in our jewellery is the perfect opportunity for both males and females.

The Benefits of the Fiery Stone. Exuding with divine spirituality, the star of the grounding ensemble – Lava Stone is essentially a rock with superpowers. Lava Stone has also been known to enhance fertility.

Lava Stone Aromatherapy Properties

The porous nature of the stones makes it perfect for use in aromatherapy, allowing the essential oils to be absorbed into the rock and the aroma diffused with the warmth of the skin.

What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the practice of using the natural oils extracted from flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of a plant to enhance psychological and physical well-being.

The inhaled aroma from these "essential" oils is widely believed to stimulate brain function. Essential oils can also be absorbed through the skin, where they travel through the bloodstream and can promote whole-body healing.

A form of alternative medicine, aromatherapy is gaining momentum. It is used for a variety of applications, including pain relief, mood enhancement and increased cognitive function.

There are a wide number of essential oils available, each with its own healing properties.

This video is an introduction into how we hold, use our jewellery making tools and what they are individually used for. This is a very important step to master as the way we hold our tools not only dictates how well they perform for us but how our bodies feel after repetitive use.

Here i will give you a brief run down on terminology used in the beading world and what we call various components. I have also given you a list of my favourite suppliers with links to their websites from Australia to America.

There really isn't a more simple earring to start with than a simple lava drop earring. Just add a drop of your favourite essential oil to the lava before wearing and smell its perfume for the rest of the day.
