In this lecture we'll take a look at who uses CBT, and what they use it for.

In this lecture we will learn the principles of CBT and how our thoughts, feelings and behaviours affect each other.

In this lecture, with the help of examples, you will learn how to record information about your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Section summary

With the use of examples, we discover how a certain amount of anxiety can be a positive thing. We also take a look at the body's trigger to activate our fight or flight response.

So when is anxiety a problem? Lets find out!

This lecture is a practical exercise in identifying negative cycles of anxiety. We recommend that you have a look at the downloadable resources included, before starting the exercise.

In this lecture we start to look for patterns, using the results from the Anxiety Exercise.

We've included some coping cards, neat little cards for you to access during stressful moments.

This lecture is another practical exercise. This is to explore our thoughts, feelings and behaviours, in even more detail, and have a deeper level of self awareness.

As this lecture title suggests, being creative can be the perfect way to explore and understand ourselves. The more we understand and recognise our thoughts, feelings and behaviours, the easier it will be, to recognise negative patterns and make positive changes.

This lecture is another practical exercise. Remember to use any questions as a prompt, and include as much detail as you can, being as creative as you wish!

Metaphors can be an excellent tool when trying to identify with our thoughts and feelings and how we react to them.

Using the information we've collected on ourselves, we start to understand the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

In this lecture we explore and understand why we have automatic thoughts, and the types of automatic thoughts we have.

In this lecture we will be taking a look at recording negative automatic thoughts in a diary, and how to identify your own personal negative automatic thinking patterns.

We take a look at some of the more common thinking traps, along with a healthier alternative way of thinking.

We start to learn ways in which we can challenge our thoughts.

Here we learn to consider a new way of thinking and feeling, by stopping and taking a breath. Giving us the time needed to alter an automatic negative thought.
