En este curso viajarás a través de las tres etapas fundamentales de la novela, cada una representando un estado mental distinto del protagonista y la transformación de su nombre desde una connotación peyorativa hasta un reconocimiento respetable. Desde la juventud estudiantil de Tomás Rodaja (apellido despectivo), pasando por la enigmática locura del licenciado Vidriera (fragilidad y agudeza a la vez), hasta llegar a la cordura de Tomás Rueda (la plenitud de su vida). Este último, tras enfrentarse a desilusiones, dirigirá sus pasos hacia el mundo de las armas.

Recrearemos las geografías personales en las que se desarrollaron las vivencias literarias de nuestro amado licenciado. Exploraremos el cultivo de las letras en Salamanca, nos entregaremos al dolce far niente en Italia, nos sumergiremos en la locura vidriosa tras su regreso a la patria y, como colofón, buscaremos la gloria a través del ejercicio de las armas en Flandes. Al igual que le ocurrió a Don Quijote, el personaje del licenciado Vidriera experimentó la locura en su vida para luego encontrar la cordura en su muerte. ¡Permítenos despertar en ti esa lucidez mágica que caracteriza a los inolvidables personajes cervantinos! Como bien dice la portada del Quijote: "tras las tinieblas, espero la luz".
